3rd class of learning more about Buddhism

3日。独園寺さんで第3回「仏教を知る」が開催されました。藤尾さんの司会のもと、アメリカの方々が日ごろ抱いている仏教への質問やキリスト教との比較などについて、意見をかわします。参加したのは浄土宗のサカイさん、臨済宗の綾部さんです。

Apr 3,Talk session event took place at Dokuonji temple in Yokosuka. The group of American ladies living in the naval base gatherd there. Host Fujio san leads our talk session on F&Q and Buddhism's basic ideas in contrast to those of christianity.Sakai san belongs to Jodo denomination.　Ayabe san Belongs to our Rinzai denomination.

前々回と同様、ひじきの煮物を作って、お昼に召し上がっていただくべく、わたしのお話は、典座（修行中の台所番）についてと東日本大震災クラスの災害に備えるためにも原始的な生活をする大切さについて。となりました。
On lunch time we served Hijiki(simmered dish of brown algae),enjoyed the taste in Zen monestry. So I made a little speech on Tenzo kitchen section in monestry and the nessesities of primitive life style in case of emergency occured like Mar 11,2011.

アヤベさんは、子供のころにおてらの境内やお墓で、みんなと遊んだ思い出をお話しました。缶けりのルールが、アメリカと同じだったので、びっくりしました。
Ayabe san told the stories on playing with his kids friends at his temple and cemetry yard. We are very surprised to know the same rule the can kicking game.

あっというまに時間がたってしまいました。このクラスは、きょうで3回目。また開催されます。「だしをとる」とか「いためる」とか何気ないことも、ついついことばがでてこないのですが、説明していると教えてくださるのです。いい勉強になりますね。
